Thumbs up Setting Failed Login Delay in Red Hat

Hi,

I want to set the delay that occurs after a failed login in Red Hat. I used the ` LOGIN_DELAY <second> ` parameter in /etc/login.defs but it didn`t work. It waits always approximately 3 seconds.

To set the delay to 0, I made a change in the /etc/pam.d/system-auth file that shown below and it worked:
auth required /lib/security/$ISA/pam_unix.so nodelay

But now I want to learn how to set the delay to a desirable time interval as second.

Thank you...

Is it a graphical login? If so, is there a setting in gdm.conf (or kdm/xdm depending on your login manager)?
