Server HTTP logs & IRC

I'm seeing this in my server logs:
Quote:
204.8.34.130 - - [27/Nov/2007:22:27:03 -0500] "POST http://204.8.34.130:6667/ HTTP/1.0" 200 13128
204.8.34.130 - - [27/Nov/2007:22:27:03 -0500] "CONNECT 204.8.34.130:6667 HTTP/1.0" 200 13128
That IP is a normal IRC server (gamepad.ca). What exactly is going on here? It would seem like the server is connecting to my server to... connect to itself?

It's an attempt to use your webserver to proxy their traffic. By default Apache will not allow proxying, so you would need to have specifically enabled the proxying directive in the config file for it to have succeeded. However a 200 (successfull) status code will appear in the logs but *your* default homepage is served instead (this behavior has to do with how Apache strips processes URLs). It's a common thing to see when you have a webserver. You should just make sure that the transferred file size is the same as your default homepage (index.html or whatever) in this case 13128 bytes.
