Post Security Update Overkill (HP Printer Drivers)

Newbie question (clearly): my Software Updates insists that I need to install https://admin.fedoraproject.org/upda...DORA-2011-0524 and https://admin.fedoraproject.org/upda...DORA-2011-0524 even though I don't have an HP printer nor do I have the affected drivers installed. The "ignore this update" option is disabled. Do I need to let Fedora install these seemingly unnecessary updates to make it stop asking about them?

A user on another forum helped me examine my system more carefully and found HP printer packages installed. Once I removed them, the update notices went away too. Still not sure how hplip got installed, but that's what I discovered and eliminated.

Prepackaged Drivers Is The Problem

One more thing: it looks to my helping friend and me that the hplip driver package is a default install in Fedora. They seem to be trying to cover all the bases by supplying anticipated drivers, but I think it bloats up the install with needless files, followed by needless security updates. I thought I was getting away from the Dark Side...
