security on sub folders vsftpd

I have vsftpd up and running under fedora core 2 and I want to give rights for a group of users to have all rights to create/delete/modify all folders and sub folders.

Can all new and existing folders be given the problem rights without intervention?

If I create new folders my users can't access them until I manually give them rights.

I created a new group and added each user to the group and changed the ownership to that user and it seems to be working.

Thanks
