Hello,
I'm trying to setup a chroot jail for rssh and sftp. I had already done it and I copied the directory from an old system to a new one (with the same version of Debian). I also changed the configuration files.
At the first try, I got "connection closed" when trying to log with sftp, because I had forgotten the suid bit on /usr/lib/rss_chroot_helper. In /var/log/user.log it resulted in
Code:
...
chroot cmd line: /usr/lib/rssh/rssh_chroot_helper "/var/ldev" 2 "/" /usr/lib/sftp-server
new session for myuser, UID=1501
chroot() failed, /var/ldev: Operation not permitted
Now I've fixed the suid-bit problem, I still get the same error on login attempt and the log file now stops at the line "chroot cmd line ...".
It's just like solving a problem created another one at an earlier stage.
Do you have any to solve this ?
Thanks in advance.
