router netgear DGND3700v2


Is it possible that via my networking, one desktop with ubuntu and laptop with W7, malware can get in W7 ?

Other issue, is it necessary to download Adobe flash player on ubuntu 16.10, if yes can somebody explain why ?

Your router only protects you from some attacks: remote logins, port scans, etc. You still need protection from viruses, phishing schemes, macro script attacks etc.

Download adobe flash if some misguided web page you have to use still insists on using it.

I agree with mostlyharmless.

Malware can definitely get in W7 and other MS systems unless you use decent software and adopt good security habits.

I would recommend the standard W7 firewall plus avast Free antivirus plus Malwarebytes PREMIUM Anti-Malware (not the Free version which does not perform real-time scanning).

MBAM…...the 2 year version is better value.

Also be aware of social engineering, hoaxes and scams!
