return samba share from true64 to windows xp

I have a little problem,
i can see my unix by ip and by hostname (it has samba shares). I can allways see the shares, doesn't matter what user i use. But i can't list the content of my shares on SOME computers. On the ones that don't work i keep getting the "you do not have permission" error. Even if i use the same login (different machines) i can't access the shares. I can see them but i can't open them.
The weird thing is i enabled logging on the server and i can see both machines log-in both successfull, i can even see that the machines opens the shares. No errors what so ever. But on the client i keep getting that error.
I guess it has something to do with the security settings of my switches. What ports have to be enabled and what do i have to keep an eye on .....

Thanx in advance....

Jaydee

Cool Suggestions

Dont think its your switches unless you have duplicate macs (unlikely)

This is probrably a file permission or dual session (or lack of support for)

Most certainly running samba in debigging mode / sifting through the log files will show you whats up.

Remote possiblily samba version has bugs (try diff samba version)

Good Luck
