I am trying to ssh into my windows7 laptop from RedHat Linux. Generated the keys on the Linux Server and copied over the public keys to the Windows User's home location under the .ssh folder [C:\Users\xxxx\.ssh] and named it authorized_Keys.
When I try doing ssh -vvv <user>@<localhost> I get prompted for the password and when I enter the password for the user (me) it does not recognize it. I am confused and frustrated. It is bad enough that it is prompting me for the password but when I give it my domain password it just doesn't accept it. Now why is it that it is not recognizing the password? I do have Cygwin64 installed but that should not have anything to do with it.
Distribution: Debian Sid AMD64, Raspbian Wheezy, various VMs

The client is the device attempting to connect and the server is the device it attempts to connect to.
So, you would be looking for a Windows SSH Server for your Linux clients to connect to.
Also, regarding the password failure, do you have to add a user in your cygwin "system"? I haven't used it in a long time so I don't remember. Check /etc/passwd and /etc/ssh/sshd_config.
