Problem with changed password
 
I have had blag 3002 Uses fedora core 3 so it should be the same ...... anyway I have had my password for a while now and sudernly it changed to a four charictar unknown password nataly i loged in as root and changed but to no avail it still is a 4 chatctar unknown ive done passwd oliver comand and tryed to change it there but still it uses this four charictar unknown ive alsow delited my login re did my login and delited my group but still it persists and when I set it to four charictar password it sead set it to six!?

Im stuffed without my usr login and im doing this from root

It sounds like your system may be forcing passwords to 4 characters only. Try logging in with the first four letters of your password and see what happens.

Sorry if this isn't the case, but it's worth a try.

Check /etc/security/pam_pwcheck.
Look for a
password: maxlength=4
entry.

And by the way, this site has a spell checker.
17 mispellings on the first message make it hard to read.

Do not attempt to bump your thread again without trying to answer the questions that where put to you.
And yah, use the spellchecker. Even in your reply you made errors, making your apologies appear rather shallow. If you persist you risk everyone avoiding your cries for help in favour of something more pleasing to read or rewarding with respect to interaction.

I don't know how to solve your problem, but have you tried what others have suggested? People are gonna give up trying to help you if you don't try their suggestions!
