Preventing Changes To Desktop

I'm setting a Linux box up in a Children's Museum, for Internet access. My problem is that not all of the people that sit down at this box are children and not all are friendly.

My problem is that I want to secure the desktop, and i'm not sure how to do this. I've already removed everything but the link to Firefox, but i'm sure that some innovative person is going to remove it or find some way to change the desktop.

I am looking for a way to make it so that the desktop is the same every time they reboot the computer, so no matter what changes are made the staff at the museum can just reboot the computer without calling me every day.

I could probably find an answer but I don't even know the correct term for what I'm trying to do.

Thanks in advance for any help

You're right. The phrase you're looking for is "Kiosk mode", HOWTO's are available. Easiest way to start would be loading Linux from a bootable CD like (a customised version of) Knoppix.
