PPPoE or PPPoA for better security ?
hi,
I want to get ADSL and I was just wondering what should I choose from PPPoA (PPP over ATM) and PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet)
Which of those two is better for spoofing , hiding IP better if possible and all the tricky stuff to stay as more undetected as possible from p2p etc.. ??
Any links / comments / suggestions are welcome

I'm no expert in ATM, but I think you have a misconception here about just how ATM can be used.
Now, there are two possible ways of looking at this.
One: standard ADSL connection,
ISP > phone line > ADSL modem > Ethernet > PPPoE > TCP/IP
Two: ATM over ADSL,
ISP > phone line > ADSL modem > ATM > PPPoA > {TCP/IP? or ATM cells?}
So that said, (and correct me if I'm wrong) your ISP would first have to support ATM connections over ADSL, and then you'd have to live within the bandwidth limits of your standard ADSL modem. As ATM is designed for much fatter pipes. In addition, when it comes to P2P stuff your best bet is just not do anything illegal in the first place.
If you are hell bent on sharing files, then maybe your best bet would be to use an off shore proxy. Or just knowing what will raise a red flag, and don't go that far.
Anyhow... do some reading into ATM, and the hardware that can use it to it's fullest. Other then that, I'd just stick with PPPoE.

I am talking about big stuff, just torrents and some DC++.
My ISP supports both PPPoE and PPPoA , but there is no program that can use PPPoE to hide stuff , right ?
But you suggest PPPoE , I will with abou it

Hehe..
Well it depends on what exactly you want to hide.
Look into tor, and privoxy to 'mask' who you are, but expect to take a hit in just how much you can pull down at any given time.
Then there's tracker-less torrents, they are new.
In the end, your ISP will probably forward any records they have to authorities if ordered to. So in the end, the best bet would be to avoid anything that will leave that kinda information behind.
