Possible keylogger?
Hi all,
I just signed up because in the last couple of years every time I needed some linux answer I found it on here so I thought it was the right place to ask my question. I am running OpenSuSE 11.1. I know it will sound stupid (it does to me while I am typing) but something weird happened today. I was working and I typed the word "extension" in FF and right away I received an email about titled "All webassist extensions for Dreamweaver" (or something like that) from some "topica.com" website. A couple of hours later I opened konsole, did su, and traceroute and... I receive an email in the very moment I press enter about a company named "TraceParts". Now, I got a bit worried. Is it possible there's some sort of keylogger to send targetted emails? Am I being just paranoid? (I tried rkhunter and it returned no positives) Thanks in advance and sorry if it sounds a stupid question! StefaX |

If you have a dedicated firewall, I would suggest logging into it and monitoring the traffic going through it from your host. You should be able to spot any communication which happens while you are typing stuff.
