pop3 won't recieve external mail, pls help.
 

I have just RedHat 7.1 and have install the imap/ipop3d mail server it is able to login fine from anywhere on port 110 no problem but it never recieves mail from anywhere external, internal mail works fine. The messages that i send never bounce back so they must be going somwhere. Anyone know if i need to disable any security settings, i have already turned the firewall off but have had no luck. My domain is nothingNET.ca. I was running RedHat 7.0 yesterday and all the problems only happend after the upgrade, before that mail worked perfect.

Has your ISP change the MX address on there DNS servers to tell mail for "nothingNET.ca." to go to your SMTP server?

Note: Sendmail binds to 127.0.0.1 as default.

Check You smpt stuff.. POP3 does not receive the mail. What pop3d are you running

Thanks raz, that worked! i saw that earlier but i saw sendmail and ignored it, never knew sendmail was used for recieving, thanks a ton!
