permissions and groups

Hi all,

I have set up a webserver.
Now, it should be possible for 2 users to edit/add/delete files. These 2 people should also be able to change each others files.

Can someone tell we what a save setup is for this?

Greetings

what's wrong with the method you were already using where both users were added to the www-data group??

I configured it the way it was in that thread(I only want to restore backups when it is réally necessary), but probably there are better methods of doing this.
So that's what I am asking here.

No offense for your method, but I like more the prevention.
So if someone can tell me how to configure my permissions better that would be great.

Kind regards!

i honestly don't see any reason why you couldn't keep using the other thread... i mean it's basically the same issue, you are just phrasing it differently...

no offense taken... in fact, i wasn't even aware i *had* a method... i basically just confirmed that your permissions thing was sane, and i suggested you use periodic backups...

i look forward to some better suggestions also, but it's gonna happen on the original thread because:
