Password Managers, LASTPASS in particular and autocomplete autofill data

I have been searching for technical information on LASTPASS

what I would like to find is that Password Managers -- LASTPASS particularly -- are DELETING autocomplete or autofill data from the Browser's library

it doesn't make sense to generate a good new password -- and then leave it in the Browser's autofill/autocomplete library

THIS FORUM -- offered to autocomplete the subject line for this message -- bringing forward the same data I used for the message title on the MINT forum

any hints or clues on this will be appreciated !!!!!

there should be a method of displaying the data which a Browser is holding in its autocomplete library -- so that we can check to be sure things are working right -- any hints on this will also be appreciated !!!!!

As far as I know, the remembering of form data in Firefox is separate from the remembering of passwords which are considered as a special case.

Whether form data is remembered or not is controlled through Preferences->Privacy->Use custom settings for history->Remember search and form history. If you are set to Private Browsing (never remember history), you don't need to worry about this setting as it will be off.

Whether passwords are remembered or not is controlled through Preferences->Security->Remember logins for sites.

I imagine, although I'm not sure, that LastPass will operate independently of the browser settings - all it does is populate a field. If the browser chooses to remember that because of its settings, that's up to the browser (and how you've set it up).

I'd email an inquiry and let sales or tech at support@lastpass.com give you exacting information.

"Searching". So you seen https://www.lastpass.com/how-it-works and https://blog.lastpass.com/ ?
Used it for years, and your description of the irritant is inadequate.

I suggest support.

From personal testing, no password manager I've ever used touched autocomplete information. Lastpass will only ask (on certain browsers) if you want to disable the browsers ability to remember passwords, but even then, it doesn't delete it, just prevents it from asking to remember new passwords.

thanks everyone

it seems then the proper implementation is to set the browser to not remember passwords and then use the password manager to generate new passwords for each account in question
