password a directory help


I have an alias setup in my httpd.conf file thats web accessable, but I want to password protect it. its located under /usr/local/otherstuff/ how would i do that? and something secure really

Using apache, I assume? I'm pretty sure you can configure any web resource to be password protected... check the documentation for your webserver.
