PAM help


Hello

I tried to learn pam for thrice in Redhat linux but in vain..

i need simple explaination what does this mean and how can i protect any appliaction authentication using pam.....

or can anybody provide url where can i find out about pam


I m looking for a help in SIMPLE WORDS..........................
