No nessusd.conf?

I've installed Nessus and all it's libs on my Slackware box. However, when I su and run nessus-adduser, I get this error message:

Quote:
preferences_new() : open : No such file or directory
Error creating /usr/local/etc/nessus/nessusd.conf
Executing nessusd failed. Make sure your library loader is configured properly and that nessusd is in your $PATH
Ok, maybe checkinstall put my files somewhere else...

whereis nessusd.conf:

Quote:
nessusd: /usr/local/sbin/nessusd
I got nessusd but no nessusd.conf...

Do I need to create a .conf file or did something go wrong?

Furthermore, the Nessus GUI starts as long as I'm not logged in as root, however, if I su and try to run it, I get this:

Quote:
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

(nessus:24339): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
I'd appreciate if anyone could help me out.

Thank you in advance,

Rob

Did you obtain nessus from the official packages or from a slackware repository?

I got it from the Nessus website... I prefer to compile from source.

Thank you,

Rob
