NIS login problem

Dear all,

i am using NIS domain for my network.

i have about 50 clients using different operating systems
some use solaris , other use redhat 9 , few use redhat 7.3

i am facing a very strange problem

when a user try to log through the GUI ( graphical user interface )
on the redhat 7.3
he see the user name
then the password
then it try to log in but it doesn't and it return me back to the login screen
without givig any errors !!!!!

when the same user try to log on the same machine using the text mode , it log in normal .

so that mean that the NIS working fine but there is something in the Xserver ( that what i guess )

can anyone please help
