Need to setup IP Tables for Cassandra

I am trying to learn Apache Cassandra. I am running it on RHEL64. I got the nodes to work properly with the IP tables service stopped. Now I want to setup the proper firewall settings so that it will work with IP tables running.

Below is a link to the Cassandra port settings:

http://www.datastax.com/docs/1.2/sec...f#firewall-ref

Can anyone help me with the IP tables commands to make the required firewall changes?

Sure. Since you indicated you're already "brushing up": which rules did you try to add?

I never indicated that I was "brushing up", this is my first encounter with Apache Casandra. I have copied simple IP Tables rules to allow FTP and HTTP.

No, you never said that and that thread wasn't about iptables rules either:

Well, then what's the problem? Duplicate those rules and change the ports to match the ones listed in the document.
