need some quick advice about linux

after 8 years of using windows 3.1 to ME, I am now 100% linux. With that comes some basic questions.

First off, Virus's. What is the likly hood of my linux system getting a virus, and is it worth getting/using a linux anti-virus program?

Second, I am using suse 8.2, which comes with a firewall (minimal configuration) - my internet connection is 'cable' - what is a good firewall , or is the suse firewall sufficiant, or should I worry about it.

And with that, I understand that keeping unnecessary services running (ftp, etc.) would be bad as far as security goes - how the h-ll do I see/modify these services that I may or maynot be loading?

Thanks A LOT in advance. tom

Actually, all your questions and more can be found in the Security Section, read the first thread there, it has TONS of security links for more information than anyone can handle in one setting ;)

And in addition to that..

Moving to Linux - Security

Cool
