need help setting up IPcop-DMZ > webserver
Hi everyone - i would really appreciate any advice or guidance ....here is my situation:
I have installed IPCOP onto a PC. I have set the Firewall up to have Red, Green, and Orange connections. This is my basic setup: Red (Internet) - I'm connecting to a highspeed network PPP0E (no problems here) Green (local LAN) - (10.20.30.1/ 255.255.255.0) Everyting is on and can access the internet, DHCP is working like a charm (again no problems) Orange (DMZ) - (192.168.0.1/ 255.255.255.0) This is where I'm experiencing my troubles. I'm trying to run a Webserver in my DMZ. I am using Dynamic DNS (DynDNS.Org). I can not access my Webserver from the internet though. These are the IP{cop settings currently in use: In the "Services" section of the IPCop GUI interface I have enabled the external service access to allow all traffic for incoming ports 80, 81 and 8080. Under "Port Forwarding" I have forwarded all requests for ports 80, 81, 8080 to the DMZ address 192.168.0.2 port 8080 (where my webserver resides). Under Dynamic DNS I have all my account setting input and enabled. Here is what is happening: I can access my webserver locally using the 192.168.0.1:8080 address with no problems, so I know my webserver is actually up and running. Inside the DMZ I can access my local webserver using its hostname without any problems. Howerever I am unable to access it from the internet. I have included all the information I can think of > am I over looking something? If there are any suggestions anyone can pass along to me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank-you > Greg |
Log into IPCop and check your ip number on the info page
Do a "dig my.domain.xxx" and ensure your ip number is being served correctly, then do a "traceroute" from the Internet and see if you can follow the ip routes to your box. Your firewall logs will show the trace packets coming in. Regards, Peter |
