Need a new .Xauthorithy file

Dear,

I don't seem to be able to install the mkxauth package. I just get lost in dependencies. I'm using Suse linux 9.0.

Can anyone just execute the following command and send the result as an attachment of a mail to mark.noten@chello.be

mkxauth -c bez0419c.atea.be

Thanks for your help

Best regards,

Mark

I made a little mistake. The command should be:

mkxauth -c bez0149c.atea.be

Can anyone please send the generated .Xauthority file to mark.noten@chello.be

Not that I use Suse and xauth that much, but won't that add you to my .Xauthority? Allowing your to xrsh maybe?

From the manual:
To create a .Xauthority file, use mkxauth -c (see (1) above). mkxauth creates a .Xauthority file in the user’s home directory (~/), containing a ‘key’ or ‘magic cookie’ for the host it was run on (the one returned by hostname(1)). If a .Xauthority file already exists, the keys are added to it. If keys for that host already exist, they are replaced.

why can't you use:
xauth generate :0 .

why can't you use:
xauth generate :0 .

...or run a CD distro like KNOPPIX to generate one.
