my friend got a linux worm through my email account which i didn't send ..

what's going on?
the account is @hotmail.com

you sure it is a linux worm i have never seen one.

If he doesn't have no AV SW, some AV vendors allow for online upload of samples to test. Try that to determine what it really is.

Might want to download and run chkrootkit just to be safe.
