Mint 19 desktop no internet issue?
My mums Mint 19 was working until recently, her boyfriend tried installing zoom and the computer went black. But I switched the power on and off and it goes, except for the internet. It took a while to connect to the wifi but even so, Midori, Chrome and the updater are not connecting to the net, the browsers say there is no internet.
Could it be firewalld or Firejail, both installed?
When it is connected to wifi, obtain the output to the following commands
Code:
ip address
Code:
ip route
Code:
grep "name" /etc/resolv.conf
For convenience, you can copy and paste the output to a text file and save to memory stick, so that you can report your findings via an internet-connected PC.
The first command will tell us if an IP address is assigned, and the 'ip route' command will tell us if a default route (to the internet) exists. The last command will show if a nameserver exists. It may point to the router or perhaps to an online nameserver. This may help with advising further.

Her computer is quirky, another restart and the internet connected straight away. I had the USB stick ready. Thanks. Where is there a book of such code?
