Metasploit Applicable for WAN?
 
Hello,

i am not sure whether this is a appropriate forum to ask my question on "Metasploit framework" but since metasploit framework is tool of backtrack(linux) i would just want to know whether metasploit framework is applicable under Wide area network.i tried it under my lan systems it works great,but when i try to exploit my other computer placed far off my place it fails to exploit it!!(have taken my ip form the site www.whatismyip.com).i even turned down my firewall and it is winsp2.i would really appreciate if u can tell me where i have gone worng!!

Hoping a moderator will look at this question, since you are asking about an exploit tool. Even though it's part of Backtrack4, you're asking about use on a WAN...and we have only your word for it, that you're trying to pentest YOUR system, and not someone elses.
