Login user automatically on system startup, and then start X
Yes, that's what I want to accomplish basically...
I want to configure one of my boxes (it runs Slackware 10.2 with Fluxbox) so that when I turn it on it automatically logs in as a specific user and starts X-windows. No login, no username and password entered, just flip the switch and then there's X. Now I'm not sure how to accomplish this in the best way. The system installed on this machine is pretty minimal. There's no KDE/Gnome-stuff so kdm/gdm are not available. It just has the bare essentials, X.org and Fluxbox installed. I realize that setting the system up like this is a big security no-no but it's really not a problem since it will never contain anything sensitive and isn't even connected to the network nor will it ever be. |
