Login attempts

I have read about the bot scanning IP address and I have seen a few scan my server acouple of times. So far no one has got in (I think). Can someone here explaine how to have a list of users that have loged in be forward to an external mail address. I don't have my server setup as a mail server at the moment. Basically its http,ftp,printsvr... you know the basics. I am not worried about an attempt but just the ones that get thou
