IF running a live cd with no hard drive attached and if you were hacked/attacked what could be done?? the attacker would have no access to any files..could the compromised pc still b used for a dos attack or would the resources of the pc be exceeded??

what do you mean with attacked?
aren't you sitting in front of the PC?

Depends... whether the resources will be exceeded has little to do with a live cd being used. It depends on how much resources the attacker needs (prob. not much), and how much is left when a live cd is running.
I doubt the resorces will be exceeded, and the system probably will still be usable for attacks.
