linux privacy

Hi all,

i'm just wondering how much information linux is giving while we are surfing. I mean, if I have stored some names on my computer, are they accessible through the net? Can somebody help me how to find any sensible information (eg. Names) and delete them from my box. And, last question, i've installed SOCKS 4 on my debian box. How can I configure Mozilla to connect through it?

Linux isn't giving out any information. Some programs have a feedback system if they crash (Firefox for example) but even they only send information if you tell it to.

Spyware is pretty uneffective in linux... to my knowledge there is little to no spyware that works under linux to this point.
