Does any one know where in the source code, it contains the password/security I.E The login, etc, etc.

are you talking about the kernel source code? don't think it has password info there.
though however all the passwords and users are usually contained in the /etc/passwd file, well the general logins that is if that is what you are wanting to know.

it won't be in the kernel... start sifting though your init stuff and you will find where to look.

Katrix What are you trying to do ?
Tell us and we might be able to help you get the information.
i.e do You need to know how DES works or you need a copy of the code that does the one way hash's.

when you login to the console/command line
example:
definte linux on i686
localhost login:
the system i use is
definte linux 7.0
kernel 2.2xx
BASH
i was only  curious on how it worked, unless someone knows where the source code is?
