linux/osf.3974 Removal ?
 

Hi,

I hope this is not treated as an x-post, this is a follow on from a thread in slackware.. (I'm using slack 9.1 atm as an internet server, no XGui)

I contracted a dose of the linux.osf.3974 virus.

I have only managed to find a removal for the 8759 variant...

Dose anyone know of a tool that will remove, or have a script lerking in their achieves.. Google unfortunately, hasn't been that helpful. So I presume this is not a common problem with this bug.

Unfortunately, I am not a coder, so do not know enough to re-do the code for the tool I found c/w source.

Any other suggestions?

http://www.clamav.net/ is supposed to find it, not sure if it fixes it though.

Yup, that's what I have on the *nix box.. all email is checked via qmailscanner and Clam..

but dosen't clean an infection unfortunatly...

Hmm, sorry but that was my only bet on this one.
You're rigth about googling, did a quick one and it turned up next to nothing.
You might as well try f-prot if you haven't already although I'm sceptical about it's cleaning abilities as well.
