Linux.local is connecting on the ipp service

My old DSL modem died today and replaced it with the newer Zyxel PK5001Z from my DSL provider. Getting on the net was no issue, basically plug 'n' play however every few seconds I keep seeing the above drop down "Interactive Firewall linux.local is connecting on the ipp service and the other drop down is linux.local is connecting on the netbios.ns service. I've not seen this issue with my older Zyxel modem and wondering what I need to do to correct this.

System is Mandriva 2010.2,

Chris

I am not sure why changing out the DSL model would show new (outbound) firewall alerts. IPP is a network printing protocol and netbios is an older windows networking protocol. It sounds like your system is running Samba or part of a Windows network? If so, these may be false alarms and legitimate traffic. If not, I would look try to see what application or process is responsible for the connections and dig down from there.
