I,m trying to setup a game-server, but I,m a little confused on how people set one up securely.
I may consider ch-rooting ssh, if I do this, I guess the game servers will have to be inside the same ch-root? and would you give this chroot its own partition?
Is it possible to limit a user, so they can only have a one server running at a time, with the option of changing game type? maybe with some form of program or bash script controlling everything? what language/scripting language would you use?
Would you create a specific user to install game servers, and then obviously have users to admin them?
Would a game server need to have a large var partition or is this just a waste?
What partitions can I mount with the no-exec option when the base system is installed? I'm guessing all of them apart from the ch-root partition if I use one?
Thanks guys, hope someone can give me some advice.

Suggestion #1: Phrase questions so that they are easily parsed from each other and from any background information.
My apology for using quotes and editing what was in it, to anyone offended by such use.
RecoilUK, does the above organization accurately reflect what you are asking? (Should be because the only changes to your original text was my insertion of numbers and newlines.)
If so, the set of questions seems unusually broad. Can limit questions to include those that pertain to the same level of detail? Perhaps I've hving trouble with where to begin because I am approaching it from the security standpoint without the benefit of having set up a game server. Still, it doesn't seem like that experience should be necessary.
