Keep notification to reboot visible after kernel update

How can I keep a reboot notification visible until it's done?
openSUSE, KDE.

What precisely do you mean by "reboot notification"? Do you mean a notification that a reboot is in progress or a notification that you need to reboot the computer or something else?

When I do the usual update there is sometimes an update of the kernel as well. If so there will be a notification that a reboot will be required for the changes to be effective. This notification does not stay on the screen for long IIRC. After 3 hours, how will I know it has been there?
