Issues found in /etc/shadow file: 1

Hello,
I was just going though /var/log/mail.today

Near the end of mail.today it says
Code:
Security Warning: /etc/shadow check :
		- /etc/shadow:23: User "xguest" has no password !
the last entry in /etc/shadow is: "named:!:14868::::::"
is This ok?

user xguest does not have a password is that all it is trying to say?

I think by default Mandriva has a guest user acct that isn't password protected. Thats probably what it is referring to.

It looks like Mandrivia has a guest user called xguest that does not have a password associated with it. See this link for a discussion on the subject.

The last user listed in your shadow file, named, looks like it is a DNS daemon, assuming you are running DNS (bind, dnsmasq, etc). The ! indicates that it is a locked, no login account, which is what you would want for such a process.
