Is it possible that Windows drives infected when I use linux?

I use linux for a long time and today when i start up windows Anti virus software shows me many alarms that my windows drive completely infected.

I think last time i used windows its drive was clean and anti virus was updated. Is it possible that Windows drives infected when I use linux?

It's not impossible but it's very, very unlikely. It's probably your windows anti-virus has updated and is now working properly. Which anti-virus is it ?

Either a virus scan before the incident wasn't ran, or the Ant-Virus updated it's definitions and found a newbie.

It appears that BitDefender released a bad update. Check to see if this article describes what you are seeing.
