iptables will not start - but no error

Hey All,
Had trouble with SELinux a while back. So i disabled it in /etc/sysconfig/SElinux.

Now Im trying to enable iptables, but having trouble:

Code:
[root@web1 ~]$service iptables status
Firewall is stopped.
[root@web1 ~]$service iptables start
[root@web1 ~]$service iptables status
Firewall is stopped.

This is from /var/log/messages
Code:
Aug 15 15:09:46 web1 iptables: succeeded
There is no iptables listed in "service --status-all"
Code:
[root@web1 ~]$service --status-all | grep iptables
Device not specified in /etc/sysconfig/diskdump
Server address not specified in /etc/sysconfig/netdump
squid: ERROR: No running copy
[root@web1 ~]$service --status-all | grep Firewall
Device not specified in /etc/sysconfig/diskdump
Firewall is stopped.
Server address not specified in /etc/sysconfig/netdump
squid: ERROR: No running copy

Any ideas. please.
Thanks so much!

Figured it out

1) Check if /etc/sysconfig/iptables exists:
If not perform the following:
a) touch /etc/sysconfig/iptables
b) chmod 600 /etc/sysconfig/iptables
c) service iptables start
Applying iptables firewall rules: [ OK ]
