IPTables String Matching on FC5

Hi, I just installed Fedora 5 that came with the 2.6.15 kernel. I would like to use IPTables (I have v.1.3.5) string matching to drop certain packets, however, this module doesn't seem to be installed. I understand that STRING support should usuable after kernel 2.6.14 and what I'v read online makes it seem like it should come with IPTables 1.3.5. If it is not installed, how do I install it?

Thanks,

Justin

well, it appears in the "extra" repository:

http://www.netfilter.org/projects/pa...m-extra-string

so i would think it's *not* included in netfilter by default...

to learn how to use patch-o-matic, you can check-out the howto:

http://www.netfilter.org/documentati...ons-HOWTO.html

The string match usually isn't installed by default and requires you to install it using patch-o-matic-ng. Keep in mind that this requires patching and recompiling the kernel, so it's a good idea to be familiar with that process first.
