iptables startup script

Hi to all,

I wanted to know abt what we actually need to start iptables service on a
PC. Do we have to write startup or initialisation scripts?

If yes, can I have a sample of these scripts?

Thx in advance..

if you already have a firewal, you can put a line it /etc/init.d/local.start.

wouldn't that make it get executed way after the network is started and daemons are run??

if you are using a 2.4 kernel, can use this iptables firewall generator to generate a script:
