IPTables Output

Hey,

My IPTables log is printing directly to the terminal? It's a pain when your editing a file to say the least. I'm running CentOs 4 (based on Red Hat Enterprise), with SELinux set to active, and I've run Bastille on the machine. I'm wondering if it could be an issue with /var's permissions?

I know it doesn't have anything to do with my IPTables rule because I'm using the same Killerwall (an IPTables script) configuration that I've been using for a while now.

Thanks in advance for your help.

run "dmesg -n1" i think that's the right option, if not -n0

Thanks. It took the -n1 argument. It looks like it worked.

Exclamation dmesg -n doesn't work

What if neither dmesg -n 1 NOR dmesg -n 0 work?

Neither did echoing directly into /proc/sys/kernel/printk)

setlogcons [other tty] gives me a bad file descriptor.

I've even commented out emergency messages in syslog.conf.

I would really like to redirect all the IPTABLES noise elsewhere so I can work on my configuration.

Anyone know how to do this?

Help!

(Also would really like to know why dmesg -n 1 worked for above poster but not on my system...)

Emerson
