I dont know why I always answer my questions!!!!
Anyway,
The answer is by installing "system-config-securitylevel-tui" if it is not already installed.
Then run this command from the shell

/usr/bin/system-config-securitylevel-tui
you will see a screen with options to enable/disable the FW and customize it to open any special ports (e.g. 22,80, 443...etc).
In putty the screen was clear and colorful, but using secureCRT the screen was messy! I am doing all this remotely on my Fedora VPS. Now I have the default FW settings.
