iptables from server or from system?


Hi all,

i understood how to block but i have small doubt!

i am working on one system connected to server!

i want to block say abc.com..

so shld i ssh in to root and block abc or directly i can block abc from here

please help me

if you want to bloc abc.com at your server - than you should run iptables commands on it, if you want to block abc.com only at system you are working - then you should block only at your system. iptables needs root privileges.

or if you can make your system act as a gateway to your server... you can certainly run those rules at this box.
