iptables forward rules

hi guys,

my question may be a little bit stupid to some of you but i think it is mandatory for me to know how relevant forward rules are in iptables.

is your question "what does the FORWARD table do in iptables?"?? if so then it processes packets which are passing through the box, not destined for it, i.e. if it is routing packets for a network.
