IPcop - yahoo voice
I'm having trouble with yahoo messenger on a winXP machine with firewall off. Chat and web cam work, but the voice doesn't.
I have tried forwarding ports on my IPcop, but given the contradictory data available (on yahoo help site and others) on which to forward, I even tried opening the whole range from 5000 to 65000, but it still didn't work.
Any suggestions? How do you configure your Ipcop to allow yahoo voice?

I object to this. Try reading my post first.
Does no one know how to let Yahoo voice through an IPcop?

sorry.. i just saw winxp and went bonkers :]
have you tried a proxy.
if you have the port #'s (ie for the cam & voice in yahho.com), maybe unlock them in the firewall?
i'm only (barely) familiar with guarddog..
i'll read up alittle more, and post back when i find something else.
good luck

here is some stuff i found tooling around: (i havn't tried any of it, soooo..)
Yahoo messenger:
in order to use all the Yahoo! Messenger Webcam features, your firewall must permit
incoming and outgoing TCP connections on port 5100.
and i found this here on voice:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=230461
and last but not least
http://www.phrozensmoke.com/projects/pyvoicechat/
(the site doesn't look very preddy.. but you never know

Understandable. Its my wife's windows, because she hates the japanese input on linux. Nothing I can do about it.
I suppose I'll just keep trying and post back when I fix it. It worked fine on my smoothie before I switched it to IPcop. I suppose I might even go back to smoothie.
