IPCop questions.

hello Guys,

I have just started using IPCop and i am using urlfilter add-on which is working fine. I have a few questions on the urlfilter's functioning:

1) how do i block https sites? for example https://www.facebook.com
2) what if i want one specific computer to be able to access one mail website for example mail.yahoo.com (i am blocking all the mail sites in my urlfilter's config by selecting MAIL checkbox).
3) IPCop's DHCP server wont allow me to fix the lease for more than 5 hosts. How can i increase this limit as i want fixed ips for at least 10 computers in the network.

Thx in advance.

I don't use IPCop, but assuming that it's using a proxy server application (such as Squid) to handle the blocking of websites, then to block an HTTPS site what you could do is deny the use of the HTTP CONNECT method for that site. Of course, if you don't care about the site at all, and don't mind filtering even non-SSL HTTP access to it, then just blocking the entire domain/subdomain will do the trick. I'm sorry that I can't provide you with an IPCop-specific answer, but like I said, I don't use IPCop. Surely someone else does, though, and hopefully they'll be chiming in here soon. As for your last question, an arbitrary limit like that sounds really strange to me. Are you sure about it? BTW, I might be moving this to Software, as your questions are more in line with using IPCop rather than general GNU/Linux security.
