Ipcop: Firewall
 

I installed ipcop...its working properly but i want to secure it through by iptables, i tried different way but its not working. so pl help me

Q.1 How to bind ip address with physical address -iptables command
Q.2 Unfiltered(White list) IP ADDRESS OR PHYSICAL ADDRESS -iptables command

First, read the LQ Rules about text-speak (and NOT using it), and the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature. Unless you provide DETAILS, there is little we can tell you. You say nothing about version/distro of Linux, your environment, what you've done/tried, etc. Just saying "not working" tells us nothing.

Also...if you put BOTH your questions into Google, you get answers. Did you try doing ANY research of your own?

What do you mean by securing it through iptables?

I wondered the exact same thing.

IPCop does use iptables but as part of the security settings the table is not stored you have to put it in the init.d (IIRC) script to be called after the system starts.

about the only thing i have customized is blocking specific IPs and domains from accessing my network though my IPCop.

side note*** IPCop has not been updated in a very long time it has been replaced with IPFire.

IPCop is a well designed, user friendly and highly secure firewall, that's very useful for Small businesses and HOme user. It's user friendly Linux firewall to provide better web browsing to its users.

Yes...thanks for posting that verbatim link to their webiste blurb. Can you please share how this assists the OP in their initial question, or the follow-ups that have been posted?
