ipcop add on mod install Input/output error
My apoligies if this is the wrong forum there is not a forum for ipcop itselft so i figured the security forum might be ok.
I am trying to install the "addon mod" via putty
Everything seems to go ok I get the thanks for installing the add on mod etc but after that message i then i get this error
"./setup: line 433: /bin/sync: Input/output error" and suddenly i cannot get to the internet etc
If i reboot the system is back to normal, except I still do not get an add on tab in the gui.
I login as root from putty then extract the file then go to the addons directory
and to the addoncfg -i option but i don't get the addon to work.
Using 2.3 of the addon mod 1.4.13 of ipcop
I am not trying to install a particular add on this is the "ADD ON MOD" that will then allow me to install addons from the ipcop GUI.
thanks

What happens when you run the sync command on your own?

more info
Ok when i run sync i get the same error -bash input output error I also figured out that I still get the same error after install, and if I go to the web gui I see the add on tab but i can't click on any of the links in the gui just comes up saying server misconfiguration I can't get to the internet or anything,
If i go remote to ipcop via putty then I get the same sync input output error o matter what command I type if i type reboot I get the -bash: /sbin/reboot: Input/output error
. If i reboot manually but pressing the button on the server everything is fine when it comes back up except that the add on tab is now gone.

Well I finally decided to just reloaded my system, and got it all working now. The only thing i found that may have been the issue us that for some reason my hard drive was being detected as a slave instead of the master drive. even though it was set to cable select with no other devices on that ide channel. I changed jumper to be master and reloaded everything and now it seems fine.

I'm glad you got it working. And thanks for posting how you did it.
