Intrusion Detection

Hello...
Any one can help me finding material for Programming Linux Intrusion Detection System. like SNORT ... i have to give a project proposal and design IDS for linux system.
so if there is any sujested book or articles for designing oor building IDS in C/C++ Thanks

Are you looking for information on how to setup a IDS, or how to program one from scratch? If you want to just set one up then why not just use snort, and go though their online docs? As far as programming one I would be looking at examples of the source code.

i was looking for documents for programming from scratch.... want to submit my project of IDS...
cant find any related docs anywhere

Why not snort itself, its open source you can take look at its code, and there so many other open source IDS out there you can refer thier code too
