Lightbulb internet access limitation

Hello!
I need to make a server which will prevent users to download files of a certain size and restrict users to browase porno sites.
1) Do I need only proxy server to solve this or there is smth different package?
2) What's the best linux distro for the fast implementation of the server?
3) What's the best partition layout for such server

Thanks,
askar

A proxy server running squid and SquidGard can be used to BLOCK access to porn sites, which I suspect is what you mean. You may be able to write an ACL to limit the size of files.

I'm basically a SuSE user. Installation without a GUI is fairly fast, Debian3.1 is awesome as it by default installs without a GUI and configures itself fairly well and it is quite common to install it on servers because of its stability. Tripwire and Aide may also be a good idea.

Cheers

Thanks, mazinoz!

I'll try Debian. This is a distro I have the most experience among others.

Sincerely,
askar
